How is Hummingbird Express by TTPOST? I see they offer consolidation of packages. Looking useful as amazon always splitting them up

Fellas, I need to ship some pc monitors (4x34"). What skybox will you recommend? Usually used tropical, but haven't shipped anything in months.

Aeropost has been really slow for the past few months. Any other skybox service offers free returns with tax and shipping refunds like aeropost?

I’ve come to realise they making real money with the ‘ free returns ‘ . For a regular customer I can’t say how much I have actually had to use it

It has personally saved me quite a bit with faulty items. If it’s offered somewhere else tho im open to switching away from aeropost because of their transport and clearance times.
Some packages have been taking 5 business days just to get on a flight at Miami, and then another 5 days to clear customs.
The wait alone is not enough to make me give up the free returns / refunds tho.

monitors dont have duty and vat i think eh

make sure its invoiced or prealerted properly

if they label it as screens alone it will be taxed

i think it has to be lablled as computer monitors

websource calculator.jpg

i only realized after i brought in 4 monitors (came separate shipments)

some were classed monitor display and got taxed with duty
1 was classed computer monitor and no duty

so make sure to prealert and possibly email your courier to make sure its classed correctly if you want to save on the duty

you would still get hit vat and opt

Some companies may have left the old rates on their calculators in case they didnt extend the December exemption period.

How does the warranty apply seeing that you ordered from the US store and shipping out to a different region?

Seabox just sent a notice that all courier shipments must come with an invoice, otherwise it will be bonded by Customs, effective December 1.

Saw a mail from Websource yesterday saying Dec 11th is the date to order by to get your packages for Xmas. Found that to be pretty optimistic tbh.

Just create an account on Amazon and go forth.

Make sure to add your Skybox Address to your Credit Card so when you want to use it on other sites, the Billing Address would be your Skybox Address which is a US Address.

Question about buying from Best Buy USA website, referencing this post from a while back. So if they reject the TT billing address, you can get through with a US billing address. But you can't simply enter the Skybox address as the billing address, you also need to get in contact with your credit card provider to add the address? Or does this just mean on the website account itself (i.e. Best Buy), add the Skybox address to the CC info under billing addr?

Thanks.

Also additional question, should it be ok to order something like this from Amazon or would this likely end up getting high customs fees? Would it make a difference if it's in the same invoice and (hopefully) shipment as a computer and computer accessories/parts?

"Best Buy does not ship to known freight forwarders"

How does that work?

I would advise that you do not chance this.

If you are to ship a TV, it's best to ship it strapped to a pallet, especially for a TV that size. Most, if not all sea freight forwarders will not insure a TV unless it's palletised. And of course there is a cost to do the latter.

A TV of that size is more susceptible to cracking due to wobbling while in transit. If you ship as is without palletising, it's guaranteed to break (This happened to me already) and I had no recourse from the sea freight forwarder.

If you go for air freight with a skybox courier, I'd say it's hit or miss even with insurance and free returns, as is the case with Aeropost. I brought a 55" TV with Aeropost last year and it was cracked. I was able to return and recover all my Aeropost charges and then get the refund from Amazon, but due to the value of the TV and skybox charges, it took some time.

From my personal experiences, I won't ship a large TV. I brought a 32" and 24" for my folks on two separate occasions and they were received in tact. But those were small. A 32" would be the limit of the size I'd air freight.

My 2¢ is to buy the TV locally. You also benefit from the warranty. Some places may even be able to custom order your TV but I'm sure you can get a 85" TV to buy locally.

That is exactly my fear given the size of the tv.
I’m also finding it very difficult to find companies to offer insurance as well.
Haven’t been able to source anything favourable above 70inch locally and I’m very particular with the quality of tv and value for money.
After doing research, most, if not all of the TVs I want aren’t available locally unfortunately.

The TV's available in the US market will not be the same as our market. We fall under Latin America, so if you want a gauge of what ought to be here, you'd need to go on the Latin American websites of the TV manufacturers.

The TV's across regions tend to have almost the same features except for a few minor differences. Otherwise, they are the same quality and technology.

I will suggest you visit Courts. I purchased a 55" QLED last year, after my 10 year old 42" LG finally conked out. At that time there was a 75" in the model I bought. Visit either the megastore in Barataria or the Freeport showroom. Both have wide assortments of TVs on sale.

Do computer peripherals like internal hard drives and portable external USB drives attract duty, VAT and OPT?

Actually I was looking at doing the same. Saw an 85" on Amazon I wanted and then eventually saw CircuitZone i believe selling the same thing.

When I compared the prices, it was off by only $1,400 or so after I applied customs and duties fees etc.

There are some persons even on this forum that source them for you.

Okay this didn't work this year with Aeropost Address. Maybe one of the "newer" not known skybox addresses will work.

Idk about other people's experience but it seem that customs back out to wood you. Got some invoices here that have me scratching my head (invoices more than the cost of the item... madness)
