Lewis Hamilton dominates Styrian Grand Prix with Mercedes one-two in front of third placed Max Verstappen... but Ferrari's nightmare start continues after both drivers retire within first five laps after HITTING each other.

Renault filed a protest against Racint Point. Claiming it's just a pink Mercedes.

You are allowed to outsource your design/parts, but it can't be to a competitor.

Eg Haas outsourced to Dallara so that's fine, but Racing Point are using intellectual property which belongs to Mercedes which isn't allowed.

Let's say they took a lot of photos last year and designed their parts based on those photos. Technically it isn't built by Mercedes... But it bears a striking resemblance.

Would like to hear the ruling on this since the FIA deemed it legal before... While they were "designing" the car

But he crashed on the warm up lap... Mechanic did wall to repair the wishbone suspension on the grid....

Yes they did... He crashed on his way too the grid... If I'm not mistaken, a car from F3 released some oil on the track starting in that area. (edit. Max lost it later in the track not on turn 1 where the oil was)

Need to identify the limit so you know what is possible in the race

The Mercs were 1s ahead of the rest.

Tomorrow should be a walk in the park. Lewis might become P2 when he pits, then back to P1 for the rest of the race.

F1 - 70th Anniversary. What a race.

Hamilton came from 4th to 2nd with 3 laps to go.

But he is 9 seconds behind Verstappen. Might not be able to catch him.

Verstappen wins. Hamilton 2nd. Bottas 3rd.

I don't understand why more teams didn't use the hard tire in Q2 which was the same as the medium compound used last week. Clearly worked in RBR's favour. Superb drive from Max though.
