6:45 AM - Tropical Storm Gonzalo is forecast to make a direct hit on Trinidad and Tobago as a disorganized Tropical Storm.

Conditions to rapidly deteriorate over the next 1-3 hours, with heavy to violent showers, thunderstorms and gusty winds.

Leading edge now off the east coast

MET Office still sleeping?????????????????????

The issue with the met office is that not once did they take I initiative to put Trinidad under a storm watch to at least let people who wouldn't be tracking this storm/depression/wave to make some extra preparations or to be aware that may possibly get some storm force winds. An adverse weather alert is not the same. There are people out there who are unaware or don't even know whats really going on with this. I get that it's a small storm but people roofs have been blow off by less so a storm warning from out local authorities would have been least they could do.

It's overcast here an rain is falling but I don't think its Gonzalo related since it's not actually here yet

8:00 AM Track from the National Hurricane Center shows the center of #Gonzalo now tracking over northeastern Trinidad with sustained winds of 65 KM/H and gusts to 85 KM/H possible.

Heavy rainfall remains the main hazard with this storm.
