Mk2 Octavia Help

Hey guys, just purchased a second hand Skoda Octavia mk2 (not the facelift model) and things were going fine.
Drove it home from central no worries. Drove it yesterday morning no worries. Yesterday evening though, only getting reverse, no drive. Checked the tranny fluid this morning and the oil is clean and fresh. No dipstick so can tell exactly how much fluid is in the tranny, but since the oil is clean I want to believe its full enough.
All 6 gears were engaging while u was driving, no signs of slippage.
Any ideas as to what I can check or what I might be dealing with?
Its my first euro car so I'm not very familiar with them..
