I've been hearing so and took the necessary action to reach beyond the 260hp just need a mechanic now and well a retune!

I hope you guys dynoing. Figures sound really suspect.

trust me bro, that easier to install than you think...besides if you dismantled your engine head, this is a walk for you..

It really isn't anymore suspect than a Jetta with 160hp dynoing at 157whp bro....it is what it is, and with the aid of bolt on mods :)..

ANd to add, I can tell you perfectly well, Protune says the CTHD engine maps aren't 160hp as BEST AUTO advertises...they are 170hp, so would make sense of the same applies to the 160hp CAVD we get in our market

WATER METH KIT INSTALLATION ON B8 AUDI A4

Postby Allergic2BunnyEars » October 31st, 2015, 4:05 pm

Which stock 160bhp Jetta dyno at 157 whp? I would say that's a problem with the dyno.

Still don't see how one reaches 260+ bhp in a Jetta even if stage 2 and RON 98 much less Ron 95.

Well I recall you said before tune you measured 157whp actually..backed up by fact Protune says the maps are 170hp at crank, which seems near accurate given power lost through the drivetrain.

Stage 1 tune on 95RON= 45hp
Stage 1 tune on 98RON= 60hp

So, in essence we have a 170hp Jetta + 45hp tune= 215hp

215hp + Intake (10hp) = 225hp

225hp + FORGE DV (15hp) = 240hp (blue spring) This forces the turbo to achieve max psi before releasing boost

240hp + S3 alum cooler (15hp) = 255hp

255hp + ignition mods (5hp est) =260hp @28psi

0-60mph of 6.1 secs via VCDS (DSG stage 1 tune)

The next mod will be....

260hp + sports CAT & DP (20hp) = 280hp

Basically we know by freeing the breathing of the engine, will force it to spool harder/faster thus making the ECU automatically adjust fuel/timing but within safety parameters set in the programming.

REMAP after for stage 2...maybe 295hp

Meth Injection....310hp....with shorter turbo life I can imagine even when I cross 260hp

Best I can see this engine doing to 60mph is about 5.7sec with 300hp given weight and size of car

I've seen time slips of lighter SEAT 1.4tsi achieving 5.2 sec with larger turbo

Please also understand, as tuner, I will always have the most aggressively tuned engine for my marque, so this means my power under the curve can be faster than a car with greater peak hp with higher rpm limit

Usually 5tq more than hp rating as we go higher...need to maintain some sort of drive-ability....These TSI engines are really easy to make power

I never said 157 whp for my Jetta. I've posted dyno pics showing about that for bhp.

Intetcooler does not add hp. It just prevents heat soak on hot days.

Intake I really doubt is adding 10 hp. In fact when I did the dyno the intake was already installed to get my bhp figure from the dyno.

I find it very hard to believe stage 1 gets you 260 hp with those listed mods. I've not seen it abroad even on Ron 98.

Why not dyno to confirm your numbers?

Didnt mean for this to come out as bragging...but got nothing to prove really..if I took down an A45 and Macan with 360hp and 343hp Macan(almost due to running out of road) I am pleased..its also free to measure power via vcds and an excel sheet formula to convert the parameter readings

Eco sounds like you being called out here!i'd be doing dyno runs in about two weeks prior to the other parts being installed just to see the gradual hp increase and as proof of the project build which id post up once completed.

^ serious question though could a wideband be integrated on my car or it has to be stand alone ?

Its not necessary for your app unless u running a bigger turbo and your goal is for +300hp

Its a stage 1 tune you got on there right?

At the moment it's a stage 1 but I'm sending my ecu for a stage 2+ hence my doubt.

Nevertheless I know the WB can go stand alone but was just wondering the integration possibility.

Aiming for 270-280 with my stock turbo most of the requirements for this stage 2 already done.
