can anyone recommend a good place to service s40 volvo

my dad bought a 2001 s40 volvo today, there is a service light and a check engine light on. the previous owner said the car was parked up for a year so i can understand the service light. but can someone please recommend someone or a garage where i can get the car inspected and back in good running order. thanks in advance.
