Postby salty_dawg » February 17th, 2014, 12:16 pm

One of my door speakers in my A4 B7 sounds like its burst , is there anyone who replaces these speakers in Central?

Vibes me at 680-8540 or pm.

Is it the driver's side that "sounds" like it is burst?

Did you get it resolved at all?

OK, my B6 Passat driver side also sounds as if it is burst but when volume pump up it sounds normal again. Then I lower the volume to listen normally.

Sound like a short to ground fault...common for these models...used to happen in my Octavia as you said...when volume goes up it's fine...volume low and there is distinct audible crackling sound..similiar to a busted speaker cone - hated that

You described it perfectly, had same issue in mk4 Bora. Never sorted out either. Seems a common VAG issue.

I think what causes it with some is when there is corrosion within the wiring between the door and car....or within the central electronics controller I believe...some more research can be done as I am not 100%

So we can state for sure it is not burst, but possibly some short somewhere.
