Peugeot 307sw first time owner

Postby tropi_flakes » November 7th, 2013, 11:35 pm

Good day well night ppl here goes nothing.

Coming from a long family history of jap vehicles over the past week I bit the bullet and purchased a PBW 306 sw from one of my managers, reason being was the price I got it for ( he just bought a new vehicle ) and well to see if owning a Peugeot is as bad as ppl say ( when I called my mechanic and told him I bought it he hung up on me ). I don't no where to start with this car, lights switch on the left not right is gonna take some getting used to keep putting on my wipers trying to turn corners lol, back on topic now the vehicle needs a little love, engine and tranny works fine tho he just spent $7k to service the tranny, he was the first owner of the vehicle and kept it for 8 years before selling to me. The little things he did not see about tho is getting to me I want to do a general service but don't no where to start to look for parts. I'm not planning on using this car as a daily driver tho, it's more the grocery/ mall run vehicle for now.

Parts needed are as follows:
All the mounts ( yes all )
Oil and filter ( what brand)
Plugs
Ends
Belt
Ac compressor ( currently not working)
And a windshield ( has a chip that's starting to spider I'm not going to chance a ticket lol )

Can someone tell me where all of the above can be sourced without goin company?
He used to service his car by a mechanic over the highway in el Socorro side that only deals with those type of vehicles.

Moral of this story, I just need some do's and dont's for this brand of vehicle , all advice will be appreciated
P.s the panoramic roof is sexy ;)

Thanks in advance

Yours Respectfully
Confused Nissan owner.
No not a 14

Good to hear that you want to take care of your peugeot. I get parts from people's auto. They're in the phone book. One branch in el Socorro and one in maraval.

You can also get a lot of parts online from uk sellers as long as you know your part number.

Good luck with your car.

Try getting the software that relates to the Peugeot brand, known as the Electronic Parts Catalogue.
There are some Pug fanatics on here that would be willing to assist you.
Did you have the car scanned before you buy it?

try and get a Haynes workshop manual. Even if you don't do your own work, it's a great reference resource and trouble shooting guide

Ebay you tell him?
Is better he buy a new one from the UK and bring it in. The weight of the compressor would be your cost factor.

'Slap een a QG' and it is then that your problems have just begun, but don't take my word for it.
These cars are the B14 of Europe, shipping one in is actually a good option whether its new or used.

See my friend, after you factor in
1) Shipping cost, because of its weight
2) Import Duty : 30%
3) Vat: 15%

You MIGHT be looking at close to $10k. It is recommended to change the dryer as well.

^^ If that is indeed the bolt pattern for the compressor as well as pulley offset and number of grooves, it will not be difficult to modify your existing bracket to accept another compressor. Many Nissan compressors have a common 90x140 mm bolt pattern and different pulley configurations, just offering a different option

So I have been callin around and still not getting any headwind. There is a guy I meet tho with a car just like mine and his compressor went, he changed it and put a Nissan compressor in it lol it blowing like ice lol he said everything cost him around $2000 , he had to make over a bracket to bolt on the compressor he bought in le bamboo. I'm thinking of going that way :)

Hence I was saying to have the vehicle properly checked out before giving away your money to your manager.
