Renault Megane II Steering Fault

I have a Renault Megane II 2005
The display says Steering Fault and my steering has gone seriously hard.
Looking for possible reasons to cause this error as well as suggestions to repair this problem. Looking for as many different opinions as possible.

guessing power steering pump gone kaput?
Did you check the PS fluid level?

Did you perform a proper diagnostic test with the right software (Renault's EPS) for that vehicle...

Megane II comes with Electronic Steering.....
Have your vehicle checked out by someone who is specialized with the Megane II, or else you would end up paying a mint. I hope is not the electronic module for that nah..Pressure..

That problem means your steering column is finished. In the firm I think it costs between $10-15,000 but I know a guy from Curepe who used to work in the firm and he has one. Can't remember if it's new or used but if you're interested let me know, I'l pass on his info.
