kingskid... your car back in order?
Yea man, but the acceleration feel sluggish, it's not as smooth. I was told it should return to normal with some aggressive driving.

Ha..get this..after putting 2 used front tyres on my Jetta the mechatronic suddenly calls it quits..this is the 3rd one I think I am changing in this ride..currently @ BA undergoing surgery.Don't think I have to pay for it because it was changed just MAY 2012; unit barely over a year old.

+1 Mechatronic Fail...now totalling 3
It's quite clear that VW hasn't gotten this DQ200 to be reliable

Goddamn. Do us a favor and note part numbers please. Also what was the fault they recorded e.g. blown fuse in mechatronic for example. Was the mechatronic unit they used to replace the first one from their stock or did they have to order one in 2012 for you? Do you do alot of stop start driving?

Ok keep bugging them :)
I'm wondering if you getting the same issue as those affected in the recall in Austrailia, New Zealand, Japan, Singapore ETC...namely the issue found here:
http://www.recalls.gov.au/content/index ... Id/1048823

"PRA number: 2013/13626
Date published: 12th June 2013
Product information
Product description
Polo, Golf, Golf Wagon, Golf Cabriolet, Jetta, Passat, and Caddy vehicles
All models manufactured between 2008-2011
Identifying features
35C1
What are the defects?
Due to electrolysis, the DSG 7-speed transmissions are susceptible to conductive deposits forming in the gearbox control units, possibly causing the gearbox fuse to blow. Should this happen, the clutch will fully open due to power supply failure, causing the vehicle to roll to a stop if in motion."

Would be interesting to get the date of manufacture of the 2nd and this 3rd mechatronic unit.

I wonder how difficult it would be to swap out the dq200 for one of the other more reliable DSG models..
Maybe that would have been a better (altho certainly not cheaper) solution.

I finding shifting a lil jerky these days esp in D1 and D2 on slower takeoffs. Once driven hard it's not a problem

BTW..... how often do you guys check tyre pressure? Are your tyres pressured according to VW's values based on tyre/rim/passenger load?

Odd that the people with DSG problems even having problems with the replacement mechatronic units. Maybe the mechatronic unit might not be the only problem ... It could be something else that still at fault if the mechatronic units keep going kaput.

Some ass hole put a small dent on my left back door ... If i find the mofo ....

Unless they using mechatronic units from the old faulty batch?

I hate that sheit.... you spend real time taking care of the car only for some muffler bearing to come and dent it.
My biggest problem is the muffler bearing truck drivers who speeding and cutting in and out on the highway like they driving small cars and throwing off stones for a good mile behind. So I have a good few stone chips on the front bumper and bonnet

Smart idea ...

VW exec : Hey I got an amazing idea ... Lets replace the faulty mechatronic units with faulty mechatronic units!

VW owner : FACEPALM!

Has it been documented anywhere else besides Trinidad where 3 units has been changed out in one vehicle?
Something isn't right.

VW Dealer: Your vehicle is the exception sir *smile*

If you check forums in Singapore though you'll see owners with vehicles having mechatronic units replaced more than once. That and clutches. Australian forums report similar. Malaysia has similar. I don't speak whatever language they speak in Japan. The one similarity is the time period of the vehicles. Mostly vehicles from 09 to 11.

In hindsight yes. I do like the concept of a dsg though. If it can be reliable I'd go with it again.

I have a Polo (1.4) bought from Firm Sep 2012. I do highway runs mostly (600miles {1,000km} per week). Now at 34,000 km and dsg works well. In the earlies I had some issues with D1 & D2 (as if i was now learning to drive stick - bucking etc) but it runs gr8 now. I mostly leave it in S-mode and switch to D (to engage D7) at higher speeds on the highway
