have the front lip and spoiler to install as well...nothing too aggressive
Good friend of mine got one (replacement to the E90 we bought off of them).... if you interested in getting teh power that the M Spec comes with... let me know....simple programming. The engines are tuned to the spec jsut below the M....but its de-tuned via programming.
Trust me.... once all the power is untapped...an amazing car.....

It's been at Best Auto since August 20th because the alternator needs to be replaced. The alternator cost a shocking $9,000 - this does not include labour, just the part. The alternator needs to be special ordered so I place my down payment. I got a call 2 weeks later stating the alternator has reached. By this Friday 18th September, it will be 2 weeks and they haven't even touched the car yet to work on it. It still sits in front of the Best Auto dealership, and they still cannot give me an answer to when they will start working on it.
Needless to say, I would think twice about buying another VW in Trinidad again.
Oh, the reason it's taking so long is because they have other cars to work on and haven't reached mine yet. How long again before they open up more service centers?

What's your pointman?
Does anyone here ever consult BA before modifying their VW's?
And even so, BA doesn't even know what it's doing half the time so I doubt that info would have been helpful anyway. Case in point: misdiagnosed alternator problem.
Andy did you at least do some research online about the system's compatibility with your car?
MG Man wrote:I never mess with the factory immobilizer on a euro....a couple reasons: nobody steals them, aftermarket alarm gizmos can cause all sorts of dramas, not many installers know how to mess abuot with euro electronics....and seriously, all that drama just for remote start?
Regarding spare parts, I dunno how ppl tolerate this rubbish....I can buy all sorts of parts on ebay and get them here in two weeks, and dealers take months?
Trinis always fail to put pressure on dealerships

Also the mods that a lot of people do are pretty common that info is readily available online. Viper remote? The guys doing the install don't know how it affects many newer cars.

Neexis.
At least to get their point of view on such alteration, then to check various VW online forums.
From what he explained in his post, I hope the warranty wasn't voided.

I don't disagree with you.. and even andy22 admitted that the guys didn't install it properly
But you know my experience with BA has instilled anything but confidence in the techs working there.
drchaos wrote:Why not get the part number and bring in the part yourself? I am sure it will be cheaper and faster than waiting for BA.
Lots of good VW group parts places in the states that will help you find what you need.
