I did a 60K service(Service level C) last week, they changed all filters (air, cabin, fuel, oil), all fluids(oil, coolant, brakes), plus alignment and usual checks. They didn't do my alignment because they say my bushings bad...

Dropped the car 8am and they were finished by 10:30 am(Not morvant)

Paid 3600$ total

Service interval according to the gauge is 15000Km or 375 days(i could be a lil off with the days)

Where was this done?

2.5 hours? Massy usually wants the car for 2 days to do all those things.

This topic is interesting new Jetta's price has gone down considerably ... So here are the questions...

Have the transmission issues been resolved with the new Jetta?

Jetta vs Elantra which one is the better buy?

Dsg issues have been solved since recall....you can also google the australian forum for owners who have had the recall done and no failures to date..

The new Jetta also gets the upgraded pistons and dsg fix which was mineral oil ,previously synthetic...

According to best aslo noone has come back in since recall, provided the 1st mech failedand then mineral oil used in it

Depending what you want the car for...if a boring daily point A to B car which is reliable...then Elantra

If want a fun fast daily driver, safer, better fuel efficiency, better braking and handling...Jetta

Korean resale is even poorer than euro

No one knows for sure re transmission issues. The dealer will always say they have sorted things out.

On the plus side the number of complaints in forums has dropped alot since the recall which implies the major cause for failure has been addressed.

On the negative I know yet another coworker with a Jetta not under recall who had mechatronic issues. They made him pay 9k to fix even though he serviced with them religiously and was just out of warranty.

I personally would never buy an elantra but I suggest you test drive both cars yourself and decide.

Things must be real bad if the updated fully loaded Jetta has a cheaper price point now 219k than the original one back in 2012 at 230k

Ah ok makes sense now.

If they really could sort out the DCT issues the car would win in any contest.

Car drives really well. Sold build quality and well equipped

Any recommendations on who can do a replacement rear vent assembly swap out? I already have the replacement assembly in hand. Prefer someone familiar with VW interior assembly work

If true, considering the price, features, performance and fuel economy it may be worth a lagniappe.
Do the new models still have twin charging or is it turbo only like the 1.8TSI?

Yup the 20K saved on the purchase price and insurance should cover any major repairs if anything goes wrong in the first 5+ years of ownership.

You also getting the refreshed body shape, sadly no LED DRL's.

I hate the regular halogen taillights on the new car. Should have been led. Even the old mk6 halogen tails are better.

It's a simple facelift. Nothing spectacular was ever going to happen.

Hi ...

I've noticed while on a hill (incline) my car tends to roll back a bit before it engages to move forward.

Is this normal?

It's part of the hill hold function. Whiles brakes are being disengaged after you come off the pedal the transmission is applying clamping force on the clutches slowly. Car rolls back till clutch fully engaged. Tends to roll back on very steep hills. Dealer can adjust the settings for you if you ask I believe.

Really? What do they adjust?

On another note.. has that rattling sound from the transmission been a normal experience for you all? The first transmission on the car hardly ever made any sounds, but since they replaced it, I'm much more aware of some rattling and clanking. I know it's the nature of the dry clutch; it's just more noticeable now.
