Just read this and remembered my cousin from the UK brought in his E class benz last month(as it was just sitting doing nothing), could have worked something out for him to bring a GTi and buy it from him. sigh :/

Don't ever buy Power Master Batteries...had almost 3 of these batteries die in less than 1 year in 2 different vehicles.I real sorry if I offend anyone but the batteries just don't stand up.

pistonheads.co.uk...they have a decent used car lineup

When my battery goes I'll probably try to source an original Bosch battery.

Talked to my contact at BA about the sirocco.

He said that VW does not even offer that car our region. So even if you want to special order one he says they won;t sell them it.

he was trying to sell me the Golf CC that comes out in 2015 when i'm rdy for a new car.

What's a Golf CC?

I am planning to hold onto mine for as long as possible once it's reliable.

WRT battery, I have always used AC DELCO maintenance free. Headlights always on "Auto" position (always come on when starting in garage), battery changed every 2 years (B6).

Car still runs good, following usual maintenance, front rotor disk feels worn (@84K km), may need changing, other than that, looking for about another 3-4 yrs from this car.

Golf cc is a new car they are working on, supposed to be a 4 door coup styled car. Sloping roof like the passat cc but smaller.

keeping this car for 2 years
then will upgrade or downgrade depending on whats available an how much money i got saved.

I'd take that guy's info with a grain of salt. There are zero pics, specs or trim details for a baby CC that is supposedly in development. They don't sell sciroccos here but he's sure VW will offer this new car here?

VW moving to design their car for a more global market ... So they redesigning and making things available to new markets. Golf cc supposed to be offered here if/when it makes its debut.
Nah but I trust the man he sometimes goes to Wolfsburg for BA, when they have meetings.

Sirocco when it's gets redesigned for the America's we might see that car here too

Yeah man will sell the car while it still has some resale and get something new that I will keep for like 5 years or so. Like I said hopefully if conditions are right. Then I will probably move onto local used car market.

after silently following this thread I've finally joined the Jetta club! :D

I'm not sure if anyone addressed this yet but on my way home I kept trying to call my wife using the voice commands but with no luck, after playing around I realized the problem was that the address book was Lastname Firstname by default once I adjusted that the voice recognition worked well. (For a moment I thought is was hopeless)

You can try speaking longer names or using first and last names in your commands.

Short monosyllabic words trips up the voice recognition so it may not understand "call John" but it may easier understand "call John William Doe". Not a perfect science though.

black... I'd really wanted the white though but the black was the only colour left in bond.

Tax exemptions? Nice ... had to do the same thing bonded car. When i had to choose the only colors in bond was a white, black and a brown. Luckily some guy who had booked a Grey didn't cough up the downpayment in time and the rest is history.

Platinum grey and reflex silver are two winning colours. Really shows of the lines of the car better than the darker colours.

Car looks good chaos.

whoa.... car looks nice man!
liking that grey

i always liked that lil extra edge on the lower front bumper on the jetta...

aye allergic... i spotted a white pcw jetta with the same white DRL's. this was at night, and i'm not sure what he did, but it looked like he only had the DRL's and park lights and fog lights on.... all were white led's

Yeah you can change the setting for DRLs to stay on when you put on park lights and fogs using VCDS. There's a whole thread on vwvortex just dedicated to different bulbs and their respective output colours as replacements for the stock ones in the jetta and even Passat. Thread is huge.

Hey All. Me has a Jetta VI for about a year now and seem to have the same body roll issue as described above. The car also seems to get pretty unstable at higher speeds - 60 kms +

I've tried various tire pressure combos with no improvement. The car came with the Bridgestone Potenzas Re50 17's

I have thought about installing lowering springs together with 10-15mm wheel spacers.

I am convinced that something is wrong with the suspension but after reading this forum I see its not just me. I love the car but sometimes it just seems darn right unstable. Alignment and balancing etc is all good.

Any thoughts? Thanks :?

I have the same tyres. Never experienced issues below 120 kph in terms of body roll. Even then it would have to be doing a lane change or sweeping corner at that or higher speeds.

Lowering springs have removed any issues at these speeds and higher for those same scenarios. I'd say stock springs are more for comfort than sportiness but at 60 kph you might have another issues.
