I have a local 2012 swift sport, the head unit is usb/cd/fm. Is there any way to add a line in using a 3.5mm jack? Has anyone attempted a mod like that?

There is no line in via the stock head unit. You can install a JL Audio Clean sweep that has an additional pair of RCA's as an external source input, in which case you can use a 3.5mm to RCA cable.
