2009 SX4 HATCH OIL PRESSURE SWITCH - LEAKING

Postby York » August 29th, 2015, 9:12 pm

Anyone had this switch leaking and changed on the engine? What's the cost at LSM or aftermarket options?

That's gonna be one off leak. Just replace the sensor with a new one from LSM.
I really don't think that's a common issue. Never heard of it in any M series engines.
It's an inexpensive part, so don't worry about it.

Thanks but after engine wash and monitoring it looked like the O-ring gasket on the oil filter bracket. $62.10 from LSM, changed oil and filter yesterday...used AC Delco 10W30 synthetic ($161.) and Fram oil filter ($30), LSM was $92. So monitoring...

That is an issue on high mileage M engines.

well it's expected if the Oring rubber gasket was on there for 140,000km! should be fine now, hopefully.

how long should that AC Delco synthetic oil be run, 8-10,000km?

You got a product link or a pic of the bottle? I'm not familiar with the product.

It's a Dexos approved or certified oil. LSM uses that I think, at least from the service invoice record I got from them.

At that price, I suspect it is a synthetic blend.

Actually I think it is a full synthetic. Regardless I monitor the performance and prob change at 7500-8000 per Suzuki manual. It's half the price of other full synthetic and just lower than blends.

it was, no leaks now!

just find the power steering a lil hard...no pump noise tho...

shorter wheel base than accustomed to, so seem a lil bumpy compared to sylphy.
