Hey I'm about to buy my first car and well I'm getting a deal on a local V6 3.2L Grand Vitara, my main concern is that I heard Vitara's give a lot of suspension problems, would you all advise me getting one? And also how economical is it on fuel on average?

rylan1996, can't advise you on the 3.2L V6 but i can tell you my 2006 GV is extremely reliable.
It's the 2.0L 4x4 model and the gas consumption is pretty good, but i've always owned a 2.0L car
As for suspension problems i haven't had any so far.

That would be some nice power to have!

the additional power would be welcomed, but I would check around and see what the parts availability is like locally and online. Keep in mind that the 3.2L engine was discontinued a few years ago, and that Suzuki is no longer in North America. I would try to find a local used 2.4L and be on the safer side. The 2.0L is fine and seems to be reliable, but could really do with some more power.

Vitara is a great SUV. And a true 4x4.
Had one about 3 years ago. No mechanical problems whatsoever.
You sure its a 3.2 original ? I now they go to 2.5

Yes 3.2's have been sold from the dealership down here. I believe Furness has a few on their rental fleet.

I have found that a Suzuki vehicle’s best selling point is the suspension, so to those who talk about suspension problems either don’t maintain or drive it like a rental/company/fleet vehicle.
I would personally stay away from that model Vitara though...parts are getting hard to find for it. I have a friend who is selling his Vitara with the 2.0L engine...in really, really, really good condition for the price. Original, one owner, well-maintained, no accident history.
PM for details if interested.
