Use whatever floats your boat. Make sure that:

1) You stick to the recommended oil change interval in your owner's manual
2) You choose the correct viscosity recommended in your owner's manual (10W30? 10W40? I don't know for these cars)

ONce the oil meets API SM/SN etc, you should be fine. People overthink this stuff sometimes IMHO.

Anyone use 5W 30? This is highly recommended in manual.

Company does recommend anything once the supplier approaches them in the correct way. Ever noticed that Ftfarfan very close to lifestyle lol. Also on the audies their engine caps says use castrol oil (advertising gimmick) but Southern sales uses Shell.

Also note that the work shop manual says to use GL4 Spec oil only in the gearbox but for some reason Lifestyle uses GL5 shell... probably due to the availability

^That's quite true. But I had a jimny doing over 168k kms using that oil from new, and never had an issue.

GL5 is not a replacement for GL4.
Just saying.....

Gb oil is even more dire to use the proper rated oil. Gl4 and 5 are not interchangeable

Not seeing anything definite on the GL4+ spec. Rumour has it that its a GL5 with the chemical properties of GL4, therefore being compatible with both.
Im sticking th GL4 until beter info come about.

The correct oil to use is 5W-30 but it is ok to use 10W-30 the first number represents the oil viscosity when the engine is cold and the second number represents the viscosity when the engine heats up. The "W" after the first number stands for Winter but that doesn't really matter. If you use an oil with a higher viscosity like 20W-50 your "tap-pits" will start to make noise because the oil is to heavy and its not lubricating the parts fast enough.
