Postby *$kїđž!™ » May 30th, 2010, 1:58 am

Does anyone know how to change one of these.....I believe that it is located somewhere behind the glove box...

Can anyone confirm?

^^I can't resist asking - why don't you get LM to do it for you?

But yes, it's supposed to be just behind the glove box...not sure exactly how it looks/'where in the SX4 though......

$600 to change a cabin filter?

I think I'd stick to one of these air purifiers that I can plug into my cigarette lightter 8-)

So assuming you manage to locate the filter, can't you just clean it?

I did that with my Primera.

I can help you change the filter, I've cleaned my swift sport one many times.

Pull the glove box down, there is a small black hatch on the blower, open it and there is the filter.

the cabin filters for the 2008 sx4 actually isn't a filter unless LSM had expressly said that they put it in!there is a black cheese hole shaped thing that the car originally comes with that they are supposed to replace for you from the start. This is a worldwide problem known by suzuki that i found on different sx4 forums. They are actually supposed to have done it for free under warranty but if you get the filter search on this website sx4club.com and you should get instructions.I looked when i first got my sx4 to see if it was in and this is what i found. But call them first if you have this one and let them change it on your next service.

if this is what you have you could probably filter an entire pitbull with it but hardly likely any dog fur will be filtered by it.Let us know how things go.

So anyone had lifestyle replace the cabin filter? or did it themselves? I bought a used SX4 and when I checked there was no filter. I also needed to replace the evaporator, which was packed with dirt (so I assume the lack of a filter decreased the life of the evaporator). Couldn't get a replacement evaporator (except in LSM @4k!!). Got one for a TIIDA that fits perfect.

its very easy to replace the cabin filter in the swift. just be careful removing ad reinstalling the glove box so that the clips dont break. filters could be found outside the firm and some may just need minor cutting to fit. Average price outside $75.00 upwards depending on brand. It took me all of 2 minutes to replace mine.

when i complained that the a/c wasn't cold in the wife's sx4, they addressed the problem with a cabin filter
didn't pay as i was under warranty
don't know if they really did install one
