Well partner, put yourself in a gear cause you're gonna be getting a lot of requests.

Prior to reading this, I had no idea that the ERG could be bypassed. Did a bit of research on line and there are both down sides and up swings to doing this. It's quite a popular mod in Australia.

Did you get any check lights as a result ? I saw some posted an error light came on the dashboard and some didn't get it - is your plate the one with the "hole" or without.

I'm still reading up on this...

I have a 2.2 Hi Rider. Had no worries until the EGR started getting stuck. The guys at McEnearney bypassed it, but the plate melted and destroyed my Turbo. Thankfully I was flying out for a few weeks, so she was safely parked and secured in their workshop.

When I came back, a New Turbo was installed, EGR blanked off with correct plate, Hoses changed, Software updated and vehicle serviced and ready to run. She's been running really smooth since.

I also bought a 3.2 Limited. The power difference is Amazing and this no longer comes the EGR. Thus far she has also been working excellent. Now its time to sell the 2.2.

If you have any concerns, I suggest you visit the South Branch and have a chat with the Service Manager, Rawl Jones. He is very knowledgeable and has been sorting alot of "internal" issues that affected customer service and vehicle performance.

Have a 3.2 limited auto, service at the firm as its on a service package, recently my power train light came on and vehicle lost power meaning even if I mashed it still wasn't accelerating like before.then on 2 separate occasions the vehicle cut off while driving. Took it in to check and waited 7 hours and vehicle was washed but not attended too. Will try the firm one more time before I seek other measures in resolving this.

Indicate that you are going to make a report to the consumer affairs division and also indicate an attorney protocol letter would be sent to them. All these items will be resolved in a heart beat. Do not step around on egg shells with your 300k + truck man - serious business.

I have the 3.2 Manual version and has been trouble free to date - Approaching 45k on the dash.

So today is my last "free service" at the firm as I was told I need to pay from today onwards. Does anyone know of anyone who can sincerely service these rangers and have the relevant hardware and software to update ? Firm prices are simply to high...

Good Evening, the 3.2 manual was bought locally from the firm. I had to wait 6 weeks to get it because it was not an item that was readily stocked since a lot of persons opted to buy the automatic version. But it was definitely worth the wait

I would have bought the vehicle in 2014 and at the time - the cost was nearing the 290k mark. However, since this present government passed the taxes on engines above 3000cc, the equivalent version to mine in the firm is just about 315k or thereabouts. I may be selling soon - so if you are interested - drop me a note.

My neighbour bought one, power steering failed, vehicle crashed, beyond repair. The same happened to my coworker.

Now they need to do something about the cheap feel of the interior as well as the area around the clutch. With my size 11 steel toe boots, I found it was difficult to send the clutch fully down or even far enough for a smooth shift.

Honestly, my pickup of choice is the Mitsubishi Sportero, even though I'm a Toyota guy. Loads of power and torque for a 2.5, especially the new high output 2.5's, and is very reliable. There are also a lot of creature comforts such as speed sensitive wipers, steering wheel audio controls, sunroof, opening rear windshield, graphical display for fuel consumption, speed etc.

I hope so too. I also agree with you regarding the Sportero. I was never really a Mitsubishi guy unless it's the Evo series.

I guess the obvious questions would be – was it bought new? Or was it bought second hand. If it was bought new – was it from the firm or one of the other dealerships and therefore should still be under warranty. If it was bought second hand – what’s the service history like?

To date, absolutely no troubles with mine and recently turned into a boat with all those floods and boy it feels good with its engineered wading depth.

We have to recognize that these vans cannot be serviced by a mango tree mechanic.
