Guys

I need you feedback on a situation with a automatic ford focus (2?) (PBY Plates), Engine: 1.6L

Issue:
When driving on the lady young or any other hill, the vehicle has a low acceleration, Less then 50kmph with RPM < 3000.

If I am a a light, I am typical last of the mark, depressing the accelerator firmly to get a decent movement only makes the engine scream RPM hits 4200 rpm but it about 25 to get up t0 70kmph.

I have taken the vehicle to FORD but there are no errors. The throttle body?? has been checked but the mechanic indicates that this is not an issue.

The engine does NOT overheat and remains pretty much dead center. They think it may be the catalytic converter, but can offer no firm ideas.

Any suggestions? Let me know if I missed out an critcal information, newbie at this.

Thanks

Dude, Check you coil, coil wires and spark plugs. Does you engine stutter when accelerating on flats? problems going up steep hills?

Just an update, i did a full service and used amsoil foam to clean out intake.... My cat is bad but not that bad, the check light is on though... Anyhow plug wires and coil good... Full tank of premium. When service was done tappet cover gasket had a leak so that was changed. I realized tho that my car was still pinging...and no power between certain gears, i would have to go in tiptronic and gear down to get power... A diagnostic scan showed no errors beside my cat... So i went ahead and changed all my shift solenoids in the transmission...so far gear shift smooth and power response is much better... I will have to have a new exhaust manifold made with new cat
