WTK abt Mazda 323 protege problem

Postby sterly » November 15th, 2014, 7:07 pm

Hi Guys,

My 323 protege (2002 model) is giving some problems.

There is a hold light blinking and the car is giving problems to take of and it is driving rough.

The reverse gear is engaging good.

I changed all plugs, plug wires and coil pack and the wiring around appears good.

Carried buy a few mechanics and they all jump quickly and say its the transmission and to change it. One guy said it could be just a solenoid to change but he aint have time right now.

Carried it for diagnostic but no one seems to have the connecting cable.

There is no engine check light on, only the abs light.

Is there anyone who got this problem? and what did you do to solve it.

Just wanna find out because I dont wanna just jump and change the tranny just like how all them other mechanics was like (is the plugs, then is the plug wires, then the coil pack when all the time these were good in the car).

thanks

Hold light blinking is telling you there is something wrong with the transmission. Your ABS light is also ON, which means your ABS is operating in safe mode which actually turns off the ABS so u only get normal braking which could lead to wheel lock up under hard braking.
Get the car professionally scanned

Yup definately something wrong with the tranny....however its either a solenoid on the valve body or the valvebody by itself....which is under the tranny when u take down the oil pan...easiest thing to do is get it scan by someone who scanner can scan transmissions....and work from there....according to what area u from,i know of someone in curepe and eldorado thats works on trannys and also has the proper scanner and stuff

Hi,

I did the scan and it said po730 and po500.

The po 500 is the vehicle speed sensor and po730 is incorrect gear ratio.

did not pick up anything about solenoid. ( but the guy did not scan the vehicle while it was running, only by turning the ignition key).

I bought a new sensor and the car improved, but when it reach 3rd gear it stuck and remained on 3rd gear right through.

What do you think could be the problem? Change the tranny? and now if i do so and have the same problem?

yo..you got this problem sorted out???? i'm getting this same problem with my bj wagon.looking for advice on how to proceed from here. did a scan and got the incorrect gear ratio, which the guy reset...,but it keeps coming very often.i have since learned that you can reset it by simply switching off your vehicle and restarting.off course it will come on again, hence i'm seeking help...
