well you just learned something, 10000 dollar rims do devalue a car and so do stickers. what difference does it make if the rims are bolted to the car or not after the transmission and suspension have suffered damage from the excess weight and size?
didnt notice a carbon fibre look, just saw orange, black and shine shine shine...

apologies accepted, now apologizing is one thing, what are you going to do about it? Gotta take the corrective steps.

Your car looks decent Kris, better in person I'm sure. Surprised you got 20s to fit though. When I have time to work on mine I need to upgrade from the 15s. Only going up to 17s though and frankly I wish I could find the exact MOMOs I have in that size. they're out of production too long though...

I not thinking about ghost busters, I know the car looks great. Yes it looks way better In person. I use the 20s sometime but it does not ride much differently from the 16s. The space between the shock saucer and the tire is in mm but the 20s are not that heavy.

kris joseph 2000, how heavy do you estimate each 20" rim and tyre are?

I have the original enkei rims and tires that it came with and based on lifting them I don't feel a considerable difference. The spokes on the 20s are thin and is 30series tires vs almost steel like coverage on the enkeis and some 60 series sumitomo big bead tires. Do the math!

A shame u didn't do a degree in common sense, it would have shown in your responses. Do the math means figure it out not make mathematical calculations.

I know the dynamics of the gear ratio suspension etc effects on a car once its changed from the manufacturers specks, my argument was that in my weighing of the rim and the feel of the ride I noticed not much of a difference with this car as opposed to all others that I have done this to.

if i did a degree in anything common I'd end up with 20" rims and two tone paint in what used to be a performance car. While my comments are based on fact(modifications from stock devalue a car, large wheels affect all facets of performance and reliability), yours have been based on uneducated opinion. You and your twenny inch lightweight, $10k wheels, lol. Good luck with the sale.

Fact - carbon fiber look is associated with sports cars. Fact in this thread i mentioned the car is coming with 2 sets of rims. Fact i never disputed that big rims don't affect a car negatively.

Fact- carbon fiber is associated with sports cars, not carbon fiber. The look is secondary, primarily used for rigidity and weight savings.

Fact - Doesnt matter if the car comes with two sets of rims if the damage is already done with the $10000 rims.

Humm I never disputed for the second time that the life of the tranny would have been shortened with my periodic use of the 20s. I know what carbon fiber is used for. In case you don't understand what I am saying for the final time. 2 different colored cannot devalue a car especially if it makes a performance car look more modern than a dull stock looking mx6. Different rims from the manufacturer obviously affects performance and wear of parts. Its just as easy as saying deduct the 20s because its not a prerequisite. You would make a good bureaucrat. A lot of talk to say the same thing I acknowledged in the first place

An aftermarket paint job devalues the vehicle. This is an important consideration when making any permanent change that will detract from the value.

taken from 215motoring.com
... that almost never adds value to a vehicle is a personal paint job,

A complete respray will devalue your car, and aftermarket paint is typically even more prone to rock chips than factory paint.

Acknowledged. But I see debating this point is pointless. The only cars that are guaranteed not to flake is factory cars and baked on paint in a paint room so if someone is looking for that then they would not buy a 20 year old car now would they?

ghost in reality all what u saying is true based on smaller cars that have no kind of power or heavy duty parts like these car have. i have a manual one and i have tried all types of rims and boy it ran well all the time with no wear whats so ever.. today mx6 in great condition looks and feel great , anywhere these cars pass ppl does still look at them in all glory , the shape the only style that was way ahead of its time, sadly mazda ended production .. i know alot of guys who have mx6 including my brother who has a local paz and hes running 18 since he bought the car 3 years now, and he never had problems with the trany, the only problem the mx6 an cornos 626 had were the coolers where to small to cool the oil down when u run the car, the fix was simply add an external cooler and it solved all the problems that came with the tranny.. so many wanted to buy my one which i never sold to this date, its still in great condition no rust no rotten parts and 2 paint job since the car was made.. 1993 was the production date i brought down mines from japan in 2004 with 18245 kilo on it and to this date u wont think thats and old car , i now changed shocks since the car was made in japan my mechanic was shock when she saw the mazda stamp still on the shock , even the nuffler barrel still is original..i have many cars that i passed through and believe me this one is the best , low maintainance, high performance , beautiful car indeed man.. ask any bmw man who drove in them , its smoother than anything else out there ...even the v6 engine where designed in a time way ahead .. did ou know these engine is the only engines in the world that is non interferance, meaning?.. when timing belt is burst all valves float up to prevent damage. many mech here in trini was amazed about this , the block is a two piece the valves are oiled cooled , the block has tradmarks of porche designed in it , man the list goes on , if u know these cars the way we the owners have, u be the judge.

the only engines in the world that non interference?-Nope, also, the valves dont 'float' up to the top in non interference engines. By design the valves dont open to the same extent as in interference engines, the valves and pistons dont share any space.

the block has trademarks of porsche design?-Nope, that was a rumour that followed the fact that the fired porsche designers were hired by mazda, from whence they were also later fired. The K series engines were in production before these guys were hired. It was always a rumour. Suzuki and mazda developed some engines and the k series included some of these. Many mazda engines of that generation shared designs with suzuki. To this day suzuki uses elements of those designs in their m16 swift sport engine.

Does this mean I know these cars better than the owners?

The MX6 is a great car, you wont find me debating that, but that doesnt mean that a poor specimen of a great thing is inherently great.

Hello Riaad.

You should post this in the Mazda section, you should find a thread dealing with the 323s etc. I'm guessing that's your model?

Have you tried calling Mazda Specialists in Aranguez? Their number is 638-7018.

Good luck, last time I had transmission problems, I bit the bullet and had it repaired locally, not too many used suppliers of MX6 parts.

SiRMX.

Hey guys sorry for digging up the old thread.

Have an Mx6...the car sat for about 3 years before I got it. Before that it had the regular oil leak into the plug ports. Trying to take something out i wrung a bold .. long story short had to pull the engine to drill it out.

Did a clean and resealing of the valve covers, changed the converter seal (main one into the tranny) and changed mounts since it was out. Back in the car now and wont start.

If anyone could recommend a good electrician / mechanic who knows these cars i'd appreciated it.

Also, its the KF not the KL so where the hell do i get parts for these ?

D & r motors in arranguez for parts d electrical may not be that difficult. Kf and kl use basically d same sensors timing belt tensioner etc are the same. If u cant find mx6 the millenia engine is the same just the internals are different.
