The OP is a wealth of information.

What does "taking long to start" mean?

Slow turn over? Tumble and no start?

You checked the battery, was it good? bad?

You changed the plugs, did that help any?

Based on the info given, i'm surprised no one suggested he change his tyres..

Partner,
Did you check the timing on the car, sometimes u can get a dead start or preignition
also it would not help to check your injectors or fuel pump..
not all the time the problem could be electrical

Could you be more specific?
Is it that it takes long to actually start (meaning you turn the key and the engine keeps cranking over but it takes long to "catch"), or is it that it cranks and starts normally but idles rough for a while after it starts?

If it's cranking over normally, battery is probably not the cause.

After a lot of cranking, do you smell fuel? If so, the engine is getting fuel, next to check would be spark then air.

My guess would be the ignition (spark plugs, plug wires). Although the plugs may be new or look good when inspected, are you sure you have the correct heat range plug? Check the plug type and make sure it corresponds to what the manual recommends. Post the number on the plug here if you're not sure.

Also, make sure your air filter is clean.

The plug number would be printed on the side of the plug.

Eg i use ZFR5FIX-11

Having somewhat of a similar problem, just havent been able to get it checked out as yet.

only happens on morning or when the engine is very cold.

Was doing some reading and came across a TSB

DESCRIPTION
Some vehicles may exhibit a concern of unstable idling or, in some rare cases, stalling, just after the vehicle
stops with no DTCs detected. The problem is due to the accumulation of carbon deposits inside the throttle body causing air flow to decrease.

Dont know if it might be related. I guess it wouldnt hurt to service throttle body then work from there if it still happens.

Before changing parts try checking your battery cables to and from the starter and its respective ground. Cables might be slack, corroded or just in bad shape causing the voltage to drop.
The best approach would be to check the voltage on the positive cable from the battery to the starter while starting(should be around 11 to 12 volts on crank). And also check the ground return on the starter(should be 0 volts).

You said the engine cranks over a while before it starts, is it a clean healthy tumble or a kind of half dead tumble?
