Mazda 6 resale value.

I currently own a 2003 Mazda 6, local used with southern sales. I am looking at doing a little cosmetic upgrades to the vehicle before I sell it around august next year. How much upgrades can one do to a vehicle before compromising it's value. Can customizing a vehicle increase it's value, maintain it or decrease? What's the average cost paid for a Mazda 6 of the 2003 year? If you all have any suggestions or ideas am open to it. Thanks much.
