Over Rev Mazda BJ

what does it mean when a car over rev's, i have seen this happen a few times, does this mean something is failing or going bad ?

a little vague explain a little bit more what exactly happens....usually when someone says over-rev they mean running the engine higher than the safe rpm's for the engine...

from your post do you mean slipping clutch?....in a slipping clutch the car is in a gear driving normally then while accelerating the engine revs and feels as if the car suddenly was in neutral...if this is the case then most likely the clutch disc is worn...
