How often should you change your ATF.

I do a drain/refill at every other OCI (15,000km), next month I'm going to be dropping the pan and changing the filter. I'm a bit skeptical about doing the flush with the machine at those auto shops. I use the mobil 1 atf and i do the drain/refill myself, takes 3 qts exact.

Thanks for the info man. Changing that ATF filter is a good idea. I am considering it now. Where are you getting the ATF filter from?

It makes no sense calling SS. THey never answer the phone. THe best thing is to go in personally. Might be in POS this week so I would find out if I am there.

3 quarts for an ATF change? You sure that's correct?

Not a MZ3 man mihself but i'm hard pressed to believe it takes only 3 quarts.

On most other vehicles, if only 3 qts come out, there's 3-4 qts still in there somewhere.

A drain/refill only takes 3 quarts, a full fluid change with the machine take 8 quarts.

i dont believe in pumping the transmission myself, if you do what rainman does then once you stick to a particular brand of fluid then its not really gonna matter, ur gonna save plenty money in the long run.

I was planning to pump my transmission at master serv. Does the machine damage your transmission?

It can dislodge settled debris which in turn can clog otherwise free passageways in the tranny.

rainman, i understand what you're saying. If you follow your procedure at that short interval then there should not be any issues.

The original pads work great, they're very quiet. The only thing is that the rear is kinda dusty.

I have been doing some reading and it seems that Mazda ATF MV is not the same as Mercon V. I saw it on this link:
http://www.finishlineperformance.com...05-08-1928.pdf

The only ATF i saw that is compatible with ATF MV is redline D4 and Amsoil. Anyone know who sells these at a good price.

Use Redline!!! I see Mobil1 syn atf is mazda m-v compatible, but it smells kinda high. Stick with Redline.

Sheriff's on Cepiro has redline for $65 a qt & the mobil1 more expensive. Maztune also sells Redline products you could PM him if you want!
Car Boutique in St. James also have the redline d4 atf $60 - $70 a qt.
