IMO the RX8, as with all previous RX cars, is a 'boutique' model offered by a mainstream manufacturer (think Citroen SM). Performance aside, I dont even think the Z cars are a good comparison since their engine, and other mechanicals are found in other Nissan cars. And to the nay sayers, for what it is, the RX8 is worthy of its name. From the get go, Mazda said it was NOT a successor to the RX7. The performance is excellent considering in its most potent form, the NA Renesis pumps out 250 hp while the twin turbo 13B of the RX7 made 276hp

Its just sad most owners, particularly those of roro cars worldwide, dont know how to properly treat and maintain a rotary engine. They all should have saved themselves the hassle and shame of broken, smoky engines and gotten a Tiburon instead. To a true enthusiast in the know, a RX8 could easily be a reliable daily driver
