This is the product being reviewed. Its a Japanese manufactured voltage stabilizer. It basically has capacitors and connects directly to the battery allowing storing a charge and allowing a stable and regulated voltage supply.

Image

the supposed benefits are:

* Increase torque and horsepower.
* Improve fuel efficiency. Save 10%~25% gas / fuel.
* Improve engine response. Quicker engine start; Better throttle response.
* Stabilizes idling as well as increases air conditioning efficiency.
* Quick engine start by improving ignition system.
* Lesser engine noise.
* Optimize electrical equipment performance to extend the lifetime of car.
* Build-In Electrical Noise Filter. Reduce stereo's interference and improve the brightness of headlights.

INSTALL PICS

Engine bay is dusty, uhh no water na.

i have the dynolicious readouts for before the install and after the install.
Dont read too much into it, my oil is shot, my coils are shot, an the surface that i tested on was irregular, but both tests were done on the same surface.

the before run:
Image
yes, I'm only making 112 hp here, wat do u expect from dead coilpacks and stinky oil.
the after is impressive-ish, here it is
Image
I'm making 134 here, no changes to the engine, just temp difference and the voltage stabilizer.

The stabilizer is well built and sealed, its waterproof and has a decent weight so you dont think u wasted ur money.

I paid 70 USD for it and i chose it because compared to the pivot raizin which was my other choice this one had thicker gauge wires, and i garther that in an item like this electrical resistance would affect performance in a big way.

the car feels and responds much crisper with this little box on it, i noticed it right away, no maybes. i didnt think that something like this could affect throttle responce in a cable throttle system, but strangely enough, it does.
My headlights are a little brighter now as well, didnt check the radio.
it tells you if ur battery is failing or if your alternator is failing, so its pretty decent.
I have to say that this item is probably a perfect first mod since the difference it made was completely noticeable, I would recommend this over an aftermarket intake for a first mod.

I plan to get the pivot raizin spark s next as this plugs into your coilpack fuse and boosts current to the coils, cant wait for that, will take pics and post later.

mazdamig, i use dynolicious, its an ipod touch app that has accuracy on par with most dynojet dynos and track timing equipment, its very accurate. Just need an ipod touch or iphone and ur orne, i just need a decent road to run it on, my backyard quarter mile real uneven.

I have a set coming in with one pair unclaimed. Problem is that the guy made a mistake and sent it to T&T instead of my SB so it may be a while till it reaches. I can keep you in the loop just soot me a PM for a reminder, that is of course you want them.

would love to know how these compare to the Akebono.

saw Centric shoes for the back...thinkin of trying those based on your experience with the pads...obviously not ceramic :D

Wagner Thermoquiet shoes hold very well as far as shoes go but still make noise to this day after more than a year

mine dont make noise, i have the thermoquiet, they dust alot, so ever so often to avoid the noise, i does buy brake cleaner and spray it out, i thinkin about trying the bosch ceramic as they have big name and all, maybe next month i'll buy a set, but i cant justify it, i still have a next set of centric pack down

Nice review....thorough!

If I may interject though. I'm not sure that the dynolicious comparions may be the most accurate to document THIS change, as that software estimates hp based on MAF air flow (g/rev and g/s) readings......and this voltage stabilizer can itself affect how well the MAF works in my simpleton's perspective (i'm thinking from the voltage POV).

That being the case, while there would be a gain....maybe it's possible to see less differences on an actual dyno?

My 2c.

8-)

yeah, i agree, I'm getting another one to run on the mazda 3, so I will try to get some more conclusive testing done, the baseline run was done too long before the second run , i just put up the two for there to be some reference, but it will be redone next week or the following week.

Tho i agree that the testing was inherently flawed because of difference in environmental conditions on the days the baseline was done and final test was done, I cant fathom howthe car would respond differently on a dynojet. I should think that it would respond to the changes similarly, however i believe that the gain to be had is not as high as it is above , but only because of flawed testing procedure.
