bought them from RockAuto, under suspension parts for the Mazda 3i.

The strut protectors and bump stops cost between US$10-15 each, and the rear shock mounts ranged from about $15-20 each, depending on brand.

On a related note, i got original KYB front shocks at Repu Auto in Marabella $695 each. They're KYB Europe, as opposed to the KYB Japan rear shocks I got at dollar savers. From what I was told, only KYB Europe and KYB China make the front shocks for the Mazda 3 (in addition to the rears). KYB Japan only makes the rear, not the fronts.

Good shocks. It will ride better than the oem. I've compared them both.

What gains are you trying to achieve exactly?

From all I have read you would gain like 2-3 HP so in other words it really makes as much sense to do this as putting in a Drop-in K&N or AEM Dry filter as the air intake is already made some what like a pseudo-CAI. Air is already being from the lower part of the car as it is.

dredman1, mind telling us the part numbers for those rear shock mounts?

rockauto is quoting KYB SM9203 while KYB parts catalog and amazon is saying SM5619 for a 2006 mz3

I actually bought the Monroe mount (Part # 906981), not the KYB. I wasn't too sure about the "KYB Europe" part, and it was a non-stock item but I needed to get it quickly. Not to mention it had no pic to verify.

The Monroes seems to be excellent quality and everything lined up perfectly.

I need to carry my Mazda 3 for a full service. I checked Master Serv and they seem a bit pricey. Can anyone recommend an alternative and a cost estimate?

If it's foreign used I wouldn't put too much faith in that number? But at 36k you just need to change engine oil and filter, you may need some new disc pads, suspension should be in good shape. You could take the opportunity to do this now but at 40k you can do a drain and refill on the ATF.

Engine oil is 10w30, filter number is somewhere in this thread, ATF I recommend amsoil synthetic ATF.

Thanks for the feedback but can you recommend somewhere I can get these services done? My job don't allow me much time to do the work myself.

Anywhere can do it. I did everything myself on weekends, these cars are pretty easy to work on. There is one machanic who works on a lot of these cars, Rawlings garagein san fernando. Not sure of his prices though

So I carried my Mazda 3 for a full service and they forgot to put back the oil dipstick. They claimed they put it back but I know they lost it because they were the last to be under the hood. I highly doubt the dipstick could fall out on its own especially if the engine if working fine without spitting any oil.

I plan on giving SS a call in the morning for a replacement but these days SS never seem to have parts available. Has anyone purchase one recently outside of SS. I believe the part number is ZJ01-10-450 (1.6 engine version)?

Try some scrap yards as well. You may get lucky.

I checked SS for the oil dipstick, as usual, they don't have the part in stock. They told me to check them back in two weeks :?

I will try the bamboo this weekend.

You can get the dipstick on ebay and amazon for around $20 usd once you know the part number. I personally bought one for a BJ on amayama.com with some other other parts.
