When u say burning alot, how much? Best way is to full up reset the trip to zero and run straight to the gas light and see how much miles u getting. Shud be about 550 avg, I get 520-550 depending on l how I drive. Start from there, see where u at and then do a service.

As said above, give us an indication how much is "a lot". Driving style, a/c usage, tyre pressures, etc also affect gas consumption.

I usually get about 475-485km at most on a full tank, but I use a/c 99.9% of the time.

If you already cleaned/changed air filter and spark plugs, you could also try cleaning the MAF. Also try an injector cleaner, and ensure you use the right viscosity of oil.

Hmm. This isn't something you see getting asked very often. Made me think back to when I messed with mine. Anyway, with a full tank your front should be (-)0.57 and rear at (-)1.42. Caster and toe-in also?

Yup. Any shop with proper machinery will have the specs.

I've seen the result. The 2L isn't an issue, but 2.3L requires bay work (firewall is further back to accommodate the turbo) and a tranny swap to work with the DISI engine. Then you have ECU, fuel pump, mount locations and all the other things that go along with engine swaps.

Nah bro I still have my original springs and wouldn't cut them at all so getting a cut set wouldn't make much sense to me. I like the low effect but the H-tech I'm thinking would be just right

The car belongs to a coworker...I think he said the head cracked. I don't know the mileage, but the engine is six years old

From experience mazda 1.6 and 1.5 engines are the same bore but the stroke is slightly longer due to a different crank.
Also more than likely a foreign used 1.5 head and block will bolt right in
