Last time I bought one from SS it was $375. Make sure is not that bearing bad in your front strut, because sometimes mechanincs may not realize and throw out the balls from it when unmounting and it makes a rattling sound. SS has that for $3-something as well.

Buy the originals from Southern Sales or online. The OE Replacements don't hold up well.

Bettet to buy at SS, about 200+ holds out well

OEM links are best for the mz3. They are well built to the extent that manufacturers of aftermarket rsb's recommend the use of OEM links.

Sometimes humming noise can be your tires

This was the case with me on my MZ3 on more than 1 occasion. Thought the loud humming was the wheel bearings, but ended up changing the tyres instead (because rainy season and smooth tyres is a no no, and the wife drives the car). Each time the noise stopped.

Most alignment shops can do a quick check to tell you if your wheel bearings are bad.

Or if your front tyres are old or worn, try some new front tyres by borrowing a friend's rims/tyres (same bolt pattern and that are in new or v/good condition) and installing them on the front your car and see if it makes a difference.

Note each time it worked with me I bought brand new tyres, and not F/Used. Since FU tyres are already worn, swapping on a new set of these may not make any difference .

^^ Same thing with me, thought it was my bearings, but my tyres were ready to change, new tyres is the way to go!

Could try calling a couple places in the bamboo and see if they have (Bobby's, M&N).

I had to get the front sensor (bank 1) a couple weeks ago - ended up buying it from the stealership since i wanted oem to make sure it was fully compatible.

Could check Rockauto.com too but remember you have to buy NON-California. It is imperative to ensure this.

Are the O2 sensors for the 1.5/1.6 engines and the 2.0 engine the same?

I called SS but they don't have any O2 sensors in stock right now.
The price is around $990

I got my front O2 sensor from SS. Cost was $910 after discount. They also had the rear sensor in stock (only about 3 at he time), almost the same price. That was in mid December at their south branch.

Front (Bank 1) sensor part # Z601-18-861B. Sensor was Denso brand (not Bosch in case anyone tries to sell you that as OEM).

Check Faiz in Marabella. A friend of mine got there recently. Not sure if it was the front or rear sensor though.

Thanks. will check.
Got back the P0401 error and getting conflicting advice on whether is the EGR valve or O2 sensor.

Sorry pimp - don't know where locally to check apart from the dealer or search for FU in the bamboo. I bought in 2 from rockauto but never had to use them since the problem was that my tyres were worn/cupped. New tyres solved my problem.

originalbling wrote:So is it that locally they refer to it as front O2 sensor when its really EGR lol?
lol nope. The 1.6 Mazda 3 has both a front O2 sensor (pre cat) and an EGR valve, as well as a rear O2 sensor.
