Good day, can anyone advise me where i can get a knock sensor for the 2006 mazda 3 1.6L.
Engine check light came on, got car diagnosed and tech said the knock sensor is bad.
Any help would be appreciated.

Hi guys i need some advice i have been noticing my Mazda 3 2004 first gen oil level has been depleting, every 3000km about quarter on the dip stick. There are no visible leaks, i also inspected the smoke and it isn't white in color.

I also notices some sluggish movement and when the gear is changing from 2 to 3 there is a slight buck at times. I am considering doing a compression test to check if the ring seals need replacing. I am also worried if there are bad pistons.

Can anyone recommend a good mechanic who does these tests and advise on the possible issues from the symptoms mentioned.

My air bag light is on anyone know what might cause it, I know there is a post somewhere here, but can't fine it. Used to come on and go off some years ago and stopped...was wondering if the sensor is loose a bit

If you have the airbag in the seat; check the connector underneath. Also in the steering, around the clock spring assembly there is a ribbon cable that could become damaged over time, this connects to the steering airbag. The only other is the one in front, if the impact sensor is acting up. Otherwise, get a scan done and you will know exactly which one it is.

Try using premium and see if that would help with the idle

Is the rough idle only at startup or when the car is cold? Or is it always there, even after the car has warmed up and been driven for while?

NATASHAMAKHAN wrote:Also what coolant is used for m3?
OEM coolant is FL22. Others in this thread have used the Prestone 50/50 without issue (myself included for several years and ~150,000km now). The main difference between the FL22 and Prestone is the duration between changes - FL22 is 100,000km and Prestone is 50 or 60,000km (can't recall offhand).
Once the coolant is ethylene glycol based you should be fine.

First thing, unless your car has the Turbo 2.3l MZR engine;it is not the "Mazdaspeed 3" it is just a Mazda 3. Secondly, check that power steering pump. It is electronic, and it can fail. You can look to have this replaced with a FU one. It might be pricey to get a new one.

The Redline D4 actually works well and meets the Mazda MV spec. You can also use Amsoil Multi Vehicle ATF, this is highly recommended and also meets the spec.

The Mazda fluid is good as well but when I was researching online and from a few good sources the Amsoil and even the Redline, meets and exceeds the Mazda ATF specs. So that is something to consider.
