Mazda 3 cradle arms/bushings/shocks

Postby zando » April 4th, 2013, 5:21 pm

Hey, looking at getting a used Mazda 3, it has 160km on the odo, drove it and im hearing a lot of clunking clacking noises coming from the front, i'm thinking it might be cradle arm bushings or just bushings in general, anyone knows what the average price for the bushings or cradle arms are? also how much for the shocks? Just general price so if im taking it ill know how much to offer, thanks!

Hmm the Oem shocks are pricey. Can be near 9k for all four. But the rear shocks I'd recommend you purchase Oem due to receiving the entire assembly( shock mount and buffer rubber). The front you just purchase the strut.

The cradle can be 1800 a side oem. You can buy the aftermarket bushing separate but it will required to be pressed in.

Aftermarket would be cheaper generally and offer near the same performance if made in Japan for cradle arm. 700-1000

Shocks quality should be either kyb gr 2 (optimized pressure gas) or Oem. Do not buy regular kyb or monroe gas shocks for this car. It will destroy the front shock head due to stiff compression.

if there is a clunking, mabe its the stabalizer bar at the front and the end links at the back, 300. avg for one OEM, change that first and see whats knocking again, the shocks hold up pretty well, so make sure before u buy it
