boy leave it stock....if i know then what i know now , i'd have left it stock....the engine for what it is, is a good engine....leave it alone and it will last....dont waste your money trying to soup it up...all you will be is faster than the other 323's you wouldnt even reach sr20 status and that reallll low.....
p.s but it have a chip that you can put in....you will beat sr20 and a lot of other cars...but you will burn gas like crazy and you seals will give out after a little time....i try plenty things already but i not brave enough to try that....they guy who did it on the zm engine took it out after a while...he misses the speed but not the crazy gas consumption and leaking seals....
is either go sport20 and upgrade or go turbo....depends on who you want squeezing your stones.....one person holding the monopoly on engine and parts for each of the two engines

no no noooooooi like your optimistic out look but it will only be that....ok...
1. you will spend the same amount of money to turbo the zm as a bpt 1.8....and where you will peak is where the bpt would be laughing at you....
2. you gearbox will break....when torque hit it ...it will break...use the wrong oil, it will break...look at it too hard it will break....the box weak...
3.if your budget is a mazda...you have no business in turbo-ing....turbo is plenty money...to maintain and to fix....plenty people get into it and they want to jump out but the speed sweet...they cant imagine driving anything slower...it's like you have a 1.6 and the next car is a 1.1...??
4. if you have the funds and you make up your mind to do it....get a next car....
5. be prepared for about a year or more worth of stress....
6.brakes to upgrade...most important....otherwise leave your number with me...when you crash i want 1st dibs on you good parts...
7. management system to control you timing and fuel....
8. hear what just buy my car from me....it have everything you need expect the turbo engine....

(i wanted to go turbo too but not anymore....again is who going to be squeezing your stones when it come for parts etc....not me and them...)
