Need some rotary info.

I'm gonna start a project soon...i was thinkin about puttin a rotary into a rear wheel drive 626....right now the car is by a straightner sorting out the body work then i gonna add a fairly new suspension to it...im not lookin for anything too fast speed i just wanna have a lil "Rx626" a simple clean rotary setup is all i lookin for...the car has alotta sentimental value..it has been in my family for the past 30 years and i inherited it now ...what i would like to know are the prices of :

1)Rotary engine and gearbox..either 12A or 13b......carbuerator....noisy business!!
2) 1st gen rx7 diff.
3) 1st gen dashboard
4) the car is currently 4*108...i need to change that to something more practical

Btw i still in school so please my pocket reall shallow...this is my first lil project

1) The best fit engine for a 626 would be a series 4 or 5 13B, since the engine mounts are in the middle of the engine opposed to the series 1 to 3 engines which mount on the front cover reducing the fabrication work. The ecu can be swapped out with a carb and distributer from the older engines.
2)A 1st gen diff can cost from $2500 to $5000 depending on condition and if you can find one. The 626 rearend and 1st gen are the same so if you can find an LSD guts and swap it out that would work.
3)1st gen dashboard?....... keep the old dashboard and spend the money you would on a 1st gen dashboard, on some gauges. Some fibreglass and upholstery could help fix the old one if needed.
4)GSL-SE suspension would be best swap for your car but will be costly.
Redrilling can work or you could use a conversion kit from RE-SPEED http://mrcmfg.com/catalog/index.php?cPath=112_22_73
But you will need the 2nd gen brakes for this.

There a guy in the express classifieds who has rotary engins for sale, haven't called to find out exactly what he has but it worth a try to get the average pricing for engines these days.

yea the guy in the classifieds have a series 5 engine. a good series 5 engine is about 8K-10K. you can give him a call yea i have second gen front and back brakes. just use the RE-SPEED kit for the adaptors to work on your first gen diff and front hub. the frontsetup is $1000.00 and rear is 1200.00.
