They run along the shroud if I'm not mistaken. You can unhook them for length. Or just take out the shroud.
Not sure if the assembly like the 04 model in the wrx but the whole assembly comes out complete with radiator. You just have to unjack them and disconnect the two radiator hoses. Loosen the bolts and it lifts out as one.
See if the motors have two wire, three or four. I have the wiring diagram for the four but you may have to use a dmm to figure out the tree since I can't recall off the top of my head. Just put 12v dc to the wires and see it it spins.
If you brave enough you can open the motor and just wash it out with some contact cleaner. Inspect the brushes while you at it. Four wire is usually the same as nissan almera and some tiida.
The motor has some metal tabs around it you have to pry open with a flat head screwdriver. Be sure to seal it back with a bit of gasket maker before closing up. Slip jaw pliers or needle nose usually bend the tabs back into place. It's usually best to make a mark on the side before sperating them so the halves line back up. But you can get away without doing such.
