Hey guys, my internal wastegate needs changing in my sti and I was thinking about installing an external wastegate instead of putting back an IWG. My sti is running the stock turbo. Should I or should I not install an external wastegate with the stock turbo?

Replacing your IWG will be a fraction of cost.
Also to use your stock turbo you'll have to weld off flapper on the backend and then either cut and weld a vband on the backend for the EWG or get an aftermarket uppipe that has the existing for EWG.
Honestly it's based on your budget and what you want to do.

I'm going to put an external on mine in feb next year....originally we were going to modify the twin scroll uppipe but the idea is to weld it on the back end of the turbo now...


it all depends on your budget tho...
