2011/2014 STI vs 2006/7 STI advice?

Hey tuners,

Looking to get one of these soon as a daily driver. 2011 sti sedan or 2006 hawkeye Sti. Personally don't really like the other models.
Vehicles of interest are both JDM (not local). However was wondering if anyone with experience with either or both can share pros and cons of each; any particular problems to look out for? Which one is a better buy and why?
Anything to look out for when buying and any advice at all would be really appreciated.

Not much of the 2011s around. But for the most part the short-block platform (EJ207) should be very similar.

However, the 2011 would have a far more superior head design (Dual AVCS vs Single on the Hawkeye)

always thought from 05 onwards was dual avcs....

chassis on the 2011 supposed to be better than the 06...GVB>GRB>GDB...

The ports on the 05+ STi seems to be larger than previous GD models but it's still single an avcs cam setup.

^ there was one on tuner a while ago with darton sleeves /built block iirc....

see one or two on trinicarsforsale on the odd occasion...

Yeh most of those on trinicarsforsale are sold. Not getting thru to the guy with the built block etc..

yeh that sold already....person who bought the car ended up with an egg...engine being rebuilt currently
