I am a TAIL customer for 20 + yrs. They refuse to insure a 2k9 impreza RORO I just got.
Says...it's too fast.
They have no written policy...it's a management decision.
Anyone have any suggestions as to decent insurance companies?
Also I will be writing consumer affairs on this 'hidden' informal policy.

Ok, after climbing the ladder thru 3 layers of 'mgmt' they insured the car.

Somehow their CSRs don't know the difference between an impreza,wrx and sti.

They all did the same thing to me.

Insurance companies locally don't seem to operate on any standard procedure regarding risk assessment. They just do whatever the they feel like at that moment.

When I purchased my wrx I was just under 25. No company would even remotely entertain the possibility and couldn't provide me with a policy or solid reason to support the decision.

I ended up having to put the car in my dad's name and sign on as a driver. They seemed to be ok with that for some reason.

never had insurance issues tho...in one maritime insured my sti

infact i was shopping around a few weeks ago and got fully comp on a new model sti (2015) with maritime and beacon...ended up buying something else tho...
once you have a relationship and a good track record they don't give issues...

Sagicor insured my forester. However no one wanted to insure my sc400.

No issues with Colfire and my Impreza.

Insurance on the whole is a scam on my part. It's a money making gig. Why do we need it when there's a big hassle after? After seeing family and friends through many different insurance companies go through hell and myself being blanked by everyone for my car...
