I was gonna get id injectors and a walbro/aem fuel pump.. the smallest injectors I see they make is 1050cc which to me is total overkill..

Is it better to have the upgraded fuel system with a ton of headroom.. or Squeeze out what I can get from the stock system?

Trying to plan to do everything and then one single tune..
Decent headroom is always good once it's economical. And with fuel it's best you do it properly the first time.

Fuel pump and regulator upgrade gets my vote. I would only change injectors when I need a upgrade or if I'm doing something like a tgv delete ect.

Aem 320 intank pumps are nice. Aeromotive regulators are excellent as well.

Won't you be limited by the physical restriction of the injectors? There must be a point where u can't get more flow not so?

Restriction only occurs when injectors are maxed out meaning they are required to supply more fuel than what is supplied with 100% duty cycle.

Yes but you should be able to get about 10-15% more headroom with regulator and pump.

Yea.. econ calculator is unaffected. Improved and more stable numbers afterwards though.

small issues

1. When ac is off I get a slight burnt oil/fuel smell in the cabin..

2. When I come to a complete stop about 1 Second after the car makes a small jolt

3. When im in traffic and I press the pedal to roll forward and release.. the rpm drops to around 500 and goes back up.. it hasn't happened in a while but just saying.

So any of u guys got similar problems? Would like to know before I carry it by a mech.. really wanna get all this fixed before I go for a retune

1. Do a thorough inspection for oil/grease leaks

All other points seems to be related. The jolt and or fluctuation in RPM could be related to vacuum leak, malfunctioning TB, failing MAF sensor or it's poor connection.

Viewing your fuel trims would help single out the problem.

Thanks for the quick response.. saw no visible oil leaks..

I was reading it could be a bad gasket on the downpipe.. will have to wait till I'm home to check

Usual culprit for oil leaks that disappear are vcg. Drips on the exhaust.

Cleaned maf and just drove the car.. if it was dripping on the exhaust I should have been able to smell it from outside.. car still having small jolts so I feel it's the throttle.. in traffic if I press the pedal to move I get the jolt.. if I let it move on its own I not getting it

Its amazing the leaks that you find when you do a pressure test.

Even more amazing is how those seemingly tiny leaks affect performance.

Blue line was previous dyno session.

Red line is after fixing those leaks. Top end is slightly lower due to slipping transmission.

2nd gear pulls

Seasons Greetings. Can anyone point me in the direction of acquiring a 2004/05 wrx head and block? I believe 01-03 will work as well. Also.... is the twin turbo h/b from the legacy the same as the wrx h/b.

So a bit off topic. Looking for a turbo upgrade. Ideally. I want 280 to 300 whp. I have heard recommendations from blouch to borg warner. All I want is a street vehicle that can handle a track day or 2. At my stage I consider spool more than top end. Any concrete suggestions?

Blouch is a good turbo for that. Fast spool and with a good tune guaranteed 280-300 hp.
