Speed sensor and o2 sensor

Guys, recently purchased an 05 local used legas.
Had a check engine light code as well as the err 55 code on the odometer.
Carried it by the mech, identified the oxygen sensor as faulty as well as the speed sensor on the tranny.
The o2 sensor is easily available aftermarket and at the firm.
The speed sensor however is a bit more challenging. The firm tells me I have to replace the entire harness.. The sensors don't come individually... And that I have to scrap it down first and bring to them for them to check if they have a replacement.
Anyone ever had this issue and resolved it?
