2005 LGT Exhaust Question

Hi Guys,
I have a 2005 LGT Stock. I'm thinking about removing the Cat Converters on the exhaust system as well as upgrading the exhaust system. I would however prefer to have a relatively quiet car, as it's daily driven to POS everyday. What would be your recommendations as to the best exhaust system to install with minimal noise increase?
Also, would removing the Cat cause a CEL?

Stock leggy's with exhaust sound comparable to a civic.
You want an aggressive sound, install a good air filter and do the snorkus delete.
You'll get an awesome intake growl as well as a faux BOV whoosh with the stock BPV.
If you really want to pursue an aftermarket exhaust, the STI Genomes are relatively decent, if you can locate them

Good Air filter meaning replace the drop in filter assembly with one of those K&N Typhoon Kits?
Also, a bit unfamiliar with the snorkus delete? Could you explain what this is?

If you want to maintain a drop in filter, there is a noise cancelling airbox in the fender that can be removed without much issues.
It's also called the air box silencer.
Bear in mind, it is not a performance mod, it just sounds nicer than stock.
If you want a K&N typhoon kit, the snorkus will probably need to be removed anyway.

Yup. Plan to do an ECUTEK Tune after. Really wanna avoid too loud. Any other recommendations?
Also, I was lookin on K&N site and came across this -
http://www.knfilters.com/search/product.aspx?Prod=69-8003TFKWould this work for the EJ20? I'm only seeing it available for the 2.5 engine on the website.

Hi Guys,
So I did an aftermarket 3" exhaust with Farley and had the car tuned after. Also installed an AEM Air intake. Car runs great. My one concern is the sound. I still think it's too loud. I installed a 3" resonator/silencer midway down. Any recommendations to make the car quieter? Farley recommend going with Magnaflow barrels, but he couldn't say for sure how much quieter the car would be.

You should have done just what Vexx Dog told you. You have bitten off more than you can chew and now you have to live with the noise mile after mile..................and the car behind you too.
Besides, I love a quiet car (initially you said that in your first post) and will never change our stock Legacy GT exhaust system.
Regards,
RR.
