WTK!!: Subaru 100,000km Maintenance

Postby rb25 » March 14th, 2016, 4:32 pm

I am approaching 100,000km...probably in the next three months. I am a first time Subaru owner. I was wondering what should I change/service when I carry it in for maintenance. I have a Subaru Impreza Anesis chassis GE3004919. The engine is EL 15. I t is a foreign used, I got it is April 2014 PDC series..

1) Is it overkill if I carry it in at 100,000km or should I carry it in later?
2) If you guys have an idea of the price range I am looking at for the service?
3) Any tips and suggestions would be greatly appreciated....

for some more info....
1) I live in central
2) Work in Macoya..so I make the daily commute 5 days a week
3) I change my oil every 9000 - 10000 km (Amsoil 20W50)...I basically do 10,000km every three months..

Your help will be greatly appreciate fellas...thanks is advance......

I'm not a car expert but I can say with some level of certainty that the mileage on ALL foreign used vehicles are rolled back. So you would have bought the vehicle with the mileage already way past 100km.

Do the service as soon as you can, doing all major replacement/renewal work.

Importantly, replace timing belt if it applies to your vehicle. Change all fluids, cabin air filter everything. Get the full works done. Check tie rod ends/assembly, all bushings. everything.

all IMHO.

I can't see why a normally aspirated 1.5L 4 cylinder japanese boxer engine should have drastically different service requirements to an inline 4 cylinder japanese engine.

You should do the following at the 100,000km service

- Change engine oil and oil filter
- Replace gearbox oil / automatic transmission oil
- Change fuel filter
- Change air filter
- Change spark plugs
- Check engine timing
- Clean fuel injectors
- Flush out and replace power steering fluid
- Flush out and replace coolant
- Flush out and replace brake fluid
- Flush out and replace clutch fluid (if equipped with manual transmission)
- Replace timing belt and tensioner
- Replace all drive belts - alternator, air-conditioning and power steering
- Check over suspension and tighten/replace whatever is necessary
- Check brakes and replace as necessary
- Check wheel balance and alignment
- Replace a/c cabin filter

You would in all likelihood get a more informed response from the Subaru forum on this website.
