WTK: Maintenance cost on a 1.6 TS

Postby esan » July 3rd, 2007, 3:39 am

Good day 2nrz…

I’m considering buying a 1.6 TS (I know it aint fast). Anyone who has one… I’d like to know what your monthly maintenance cost and availability of parts are like, from filters and seals to major parts.

I’d also like to know who works on them in the west because I heard that the average mechanic can mess up your boxer engine. Peace.

esan,

i can say that basic maintenence parts are readily availble from the firm, motorist, faiz in marabella and various other suppliers

the 1.6ts can also use the almera oil filters, the original filters from the firm cost around 80 which are advised to be changed out at 10,000km

i use masterserv for service - the basic service oil change, filter change, service brakes etc cost around 800

hope this helps,

refer to www.scoobytnt.com for further info

good luck in your choice

its a lil more at the firm.

Cost me between TT$800 and TT$1200 for general maintenance.

Note that brakes are kinda costly. Can cost you TT$1000 plus vat and installation plus your general maintenance bill.

There are after market brakes that are cheaper.

can't go wrong with the TS .. remember scooby parts are generally more expensive than , say , an Almera , B14 , B15 etc.

What did this entail?

And was everything that the firm did necessary?

I can't agree with that totally, per say. Some parts are...but otherwise, many really aren't that much different in price.....mainly because there are some common parts between the Nissan and the Subaru line up.
