Knocking noise in reverse gear in Sportero

Postby Slick84 » November 16th, 2016, 7:39 am

I have an automatic Sportero and when I put it in reverse gear,i get a "thump" in what seems to be the transfer case...there is no grinding noise in Drive or Reverse, only a "thump/knock" when I put the gear in reverse.....anyone can help or advise me what to do or where to go?

I changed the both Crosses on the driveshaft, just to be sure....but the noise is coming from inside the transfer case when reverse gear is put in

A mechanic said it's the bearing in the transfer case so that has to change

Rear output bearing in the transfer case....transfer case has to come down and the bearing needs to pressed out and pressed back in
