The Obvious Difference
Following the public release of the Mitsubishi Evo x, Tomei Powered quickly acquired and disassembled the newest 4B11 powerplant to begin their research. Tomei's first step toward research proved crucial for the development of their own 4B11 products as it involved familiarizing and discovering the basic characteristics of Mitsubishi's new engine design. Another aspect of this research included a side-by-side comparison with its predecessor, the 4G63.

Being an engine manufactured recently the cost of the 4b11 will be of more value than a 63t. The 63t price ranges are 15-20 thousand for engine and box.

^ ^ ^ eBay is your best bet for a decent Evo 8 4G63T engine (long block with all accessories except starter.)
Expect to pay around US $2,800-$3,100, plus freight & local courier charges for a decent engine.
Evo 8 5-speed gearboxes go for around US $1,200, plus freight & local courier charges.

Sanctifier wrote:BTW IMHO too much torque & unequal length axles will cause bump steer and will make the car dangerous to drive.
So if you are upgrading an older fwd CK, IMHO a 4G63T or 4B11T is the last thing that you should install...
unless you have VERY deep pockets... and upgrade these FIRST... fwd-to-4wd (NOT recommended), suspension, BRAKES, wheels, etc.

IMHO these days it's cheaper & easier to sell your CK and buy an E6 (hard to find a 'clean' one), E7 or E8.
If you go this route... check for RUST!!!
