Gas gauge problem

My gas gauge never reads correct, a few days ago it started reading empty with the gas light on, i changed the float in the gas tank but same problem, any help?

1st off what model car caz different vechicles have different problems.
Nissan gas pumps loves to get dislodged in the tanks cazing incorrect readings
If you changed the float it could be the sender unit is dirty or going bad.Both these should be in the tank.
