Hey All, I hope someone can help, I have a 2008 lancer which came with the AFS Headlamps with HID, I replaced the Headlights with Regular lamps. Anyone have any idea how to remove the AFS Service Message from the Instrument Panel's LCD?
Please any help will be appreciated, do not want to face the firm for those expensive lamps!!!
Please PM...

Do you mean the entire factory oem headlight assembly ( consisting of the HID,AFS ) ?
In that case if the original wires connecting to the AFS lamps is not connected the AFS ECU will see it as an open circuit ( blown bulbs) and trigger the AFS fault lamp / message.
Assuming this was done you can connect small bulbs to the original wires and tuck it away or put some resistors on the wires to act as an electrical load to fool the AFS ECU that their are working bulbs in the circuit.
Give me some feedback as to what happen , but by the way why would you want to replace the entire factory assembly with normal headlights?

Hi,
The vehicle got into an accident & the front right head lamp got damaged, bulb inside etc. so I brought in 2 regular lamps, not HID or AFS.
So you are correct, the original AFS jacks are all hanging there, we re wired to get the regular lamps to work.
Any idea what resistor I can try or if there is any way to get rid of the message?

If the original jacks for the AFS has no bulbs in them , this may be the problem... just put in a bulb in the jack.
If this works ie message is gone then you can leave the bulb/ bulbs.
I cant say the resistor value, if the bulb works you can measure the bulb's resistance and buy a similar resistance and wattage rating resistor.
Try the bulbs and give feedback.

Not that simple, the jacks for the original headlamp has a tonne of pins, so it seems as though it goes to some circuitry inside the headlamp...

when I said jacks I mean the sockets for the afs bulbs. If it is still their put some bulbs in it .. if not I will have to look at mine and get back to you.

There isnt a a clear cut way to get the load resistors to work cuz 1st u have to know the pin out the harness then wen u find it where u going to put the resistor and what load resistors to use as to not hold back too much wattage.
It could be done but it'll take time patient and a bit of research on other forums..
I had a accident with my GT on the driver side so I imported the driver side from the US an I got an extra pair of AFS wen I bought bumper an other stuff from the bamboo so i'll be putting them up for sale soon...
