GDI injectors cant be properly cleaned while still installed..........

for a proper clean both inside and outside these injectors need attention

Since you got to remove them an actually scrape of the carbon build up from around the nozzle

^ That's true, due to the high pressure output of the pump the injectors do not really need servicing like normal injectors, however to to being lean burn the injectors can fire at a lower pulse without the vehicle cutting off, but the area around the nozzle gets carbon buildup and it affects spray pattern.
