Question/comment about A17X Lancers

just a personal rant of sorts, but what's with all the for-sale posts of 'GSR' Lancers, which IMO clearly aren't genuine GSR's?! I find the mitsu men are inordinately quiet on this

I stand corrected but the GSR model, officially named Mitsubishi Lancer EX 1800/2000 GSR, has either (as the name suggests) a 1.8 EFI (intercooled and non-intercooled) or 2.0 EFI turbocharged engine, and a sport interior which was NOT available in beige. But of late it seems the classified forum is littered for for sale posts of GSRs which seem to be little more than supped up or modified 1400 SL models. I mean nobody sups up their Civic and posts it as a Type R, so................

here a prime example of what I'm talking about:

^ ^ ^ Late answer... but the first A17x Lancer GSR had a 1600 Sirius with twin carbs, A17x 1400 front discs, rear drum brakes and the A17x 1400 rear axle.

AFAIK, the Lancer 1800 GSR with the Sirius G62B, was introduced a couple years after as a JDM model... and the Lancer Turbo with the Sirius G63B, was the 2-litre version introduced in the UK after that.

BTW bogus A17x GSRs have been around for years. With Evo X being stopped in a couple years, look out for even more bogus Evos for sale.
